Introduction & Scope
Welcome to BillWise Pakistan ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy details our policies and procedures regarding the processing, storage, and protection of information when you use our mobile application.
BillWise Pakistan is designed specifically for residents and businesses across Pakistan to organize, track, and receive timely local reminders for their recurring utility bills (Electricity, Gas, Water, and Internet services).
Key Principle: Privacy by Default
Unlike traditional apps that force you to register on an external server and upload your utility bills to cloud databases, BillWise Pakistan operates offline-first. All consumer reference numbers, bill due dates, and payment history records remain exclusively inside your device's private sandbox storage.

Data We Process
When configuring and using BillWise Pakistan, you may input certain operational information required to track your bills:
To identify bills, calculate due dates, and link to duplicate bill checking

We do not collect credit/debit card numbers, bank account details, or CVVs.
We do not collect CNIC (National Identity Card) numbers or biometric data.
We do not require user email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
We do not track your GPS geographic coordinates or real-time location.

Offline-First Architecture
BillWise Pakistan is architected on an offline-first foundation. All data persistence is performed locally on your physical device using encrypted application sandbox storage (`AsyncStorage`).
This ensures that:
Zero Cloud Syncing: Your utility bills and reference numbers are not transmitted to any remote company server, database, or analytics bucket owned by us.
Offline Functionality: You can open, view, track, search, and update your utility accounts and payment histories without any active Internet connection.
Device Encapsulation: Other applications on your smartphone cannot access BillWise Pakistan's internal sandbox files, respecting Android's strict application isolation model.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Allows the app to display local reminder banners and notifications before your utility bill due date (e.g. 7 days, 3 days, 1 day, or due day).
Yes. If denied, the app will function normally, but you will not receive automatic push reminder alerts.
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used strictly if you trigger in-app checks to query or view public duplicate utility bills directly from official DISCO web portals, or during standard Expo runtime environment initialization.
Yes. The offline tracker will continue to operate without internet connectivity.

BillWise Pakistan provides tracking templates and reference number organization for Pakistani utility companies, including but not limited to:
BillWise Pakistan is an independent utility organizer application and is NOT an official representative, partner, affiliate, or government agency of the Government of Pakistan, PEPCO, WAPDA, NEPRA, OGRA, or any provincial power distribution company (DISCO).
All trademarks, logos, and brand names belong to their respective statutory owners. The application does not collect payments directly on behalf of utility companies; users should execute actual bill payments via approved banking channels (1Link, Easypaisa, JazzCash, or bank branches).

Third-Party Services & Libraries
To maintain reliable runtime performance on mobile operating systems, the application utilizes standard, industry-recognized open-source SDK components:
Expo & React Native Runtime: Core framework providing cross-platform user interface rendering and system bridge access.
Google Play Services: Standard system component on Android devices providing core platform integration and app updates.
These services may process basic technical device information (such as Android OS version or device model) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not inject commercial advertising trackers or invasive behavioral tracking analytics into the application.

Data Retention & Deletion Rights
Because all your data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers, you have absolute control over retention and deletion:
Deleting an Account / Bill in App: You can remove any individual utility account or bill record at any time via the in-app deletion button.
Complete Wipe via App Settings: You can clear all cached data by navigating to Android Settings > Apps > BillWise Pakistan > Storage > Clear Storage / Data.
Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling BillWise Pakistan immediately and permanently purges all local databases, accounts, reminders, and cached files from your phone.
No residual backup copies remain on any cloud server because no remote synchronization exists.

Children's Privacy
BillWise Pakistan is a general audience utility application intended for household managers, bill payers, and property owners. We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in relevant jurisdictions), compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Families Policy.

Pakistan Legal Compliance & Data Protection
BillWise Pakistan adheres to the applicable laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including:
Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016: Ensuring unauthorized data interception or illicit access does not occur.
Personal Data Protection Framework: Ensuring user autonomy, data minimization, purpose specification, and security in the electronic processing of data.
By maintaining all user records within local offline sandbox storage, user confidentiality and statutory compliance are preserved by design.
